FAQs

Which Activity Tier is right for me?

Your esthetician will choose the Tier that will achieve optimal results for your skin that day, based on SkinReading. As treatments progress over time, you can increase the Activity Tier as your skin properly adjusts and responds with maximum visible results.

Will I experience any discomfort after my peel?

No but you may experience some temporary tingling or itching, or warm and cool sensations during your treatment.

Will my skin actually peel off, crust or “frost” afterwards?

Absolutely not. There is no downtime after a Bioelements chemical peel – in fact, you can apply makeup immediately afterwards and resume your daily routine. No need to hide.

Will my skin experience “purging”?

In most cases, purging is a necessary part of gaining healthy skin. If the skin is toxic, you in fact WANT to remove the debris up and out of the skin. Purging is the best way of doing that.
However, purging is not always what is happening. In some cases, the skin may become irritated due to the wrong facial being performed. That’s why sometimes it’s necessary to perform a series of Calming Facials to help the skin heal before you can go in and exercise it with a peel.
It also depends on what you are using at home prior to your first treatment and during the series. It could also be lifestyle choices such as poor diet, smoking, etc. that makes it necessary to first get the skin on the right track with the proper essential products at home. Then, it can be possible to perform an effective chemical peel service based on SkinReading.

What if I have hot flashes?

Hot flashes are unpredictable, and affect each person differently. A candid conversation with your esthetician along with a thorough SkinReading will help determine if a peel would be comfortable. A hot flash can make the skin visibly red, but this is coming from inside out. Peels affect the skin from the outside in, and can rev up microcirculation.

Can I go out in the sun afterwards?

You should stay out of direct sun (3-5 days) post-peel as your skin will be UV sensitive and prone to more sun damage.
Broad spectrum SPF 50 must be worn diligently, every single day. Discontinue sun bathing or indoor tanning.

Will my skin feel dry afterwards?

Dry or dehydrated skin types may feel a little “rough” in some areas, and there may be light flaking – almost invisible to the eye. This is why a series of treatments is recommended, along with at-home use of Quick Refiner and Recovery Serum.

Can I wax afterwards?

Avoid facial waxing and depilatories for 3 days post-peel.

Do I need to use any special ointments or cremes afterwards?

No. These elegant formulas don’t require special ointments. To maximize results, simply follow your esthetician’s at-home recommendations.
